Walmart Stores, Inc., Bentonville, AR; 2014 - Present. Instructional Designer:

  • Contributed to the development of various training initiatives for Walmart U.S. store associates; ranging from specialty programs such as Welcome to Walmart, Gift Registry and Fresh to the foundation of the Pathways hourly functional training.
  • Developed interim training program for the launch of the Department Manager position, as well as it's theme and logo.
  • Worked in several roles for progressive launches of the Assistant Manager Onboarding training program, from instructional developer during the Holiday Blitz launch to instructional designer and curriculum writer for the first Assistant Manager Academy launch.

University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, MO; 2010 - 2013. Student:

  • Practiced the ADDIE process through various school projects.
  • Completed a needs assessment of my employer’s work order process. The analysis resulted in recommendations for improvement based on data collected through interviews with SMEs, surveys and extant data.
  • Created an online learning module as part of a health coaching educational program.
  • Developed an animated children’s counting book in Flash (created the animations, ActionScript 3 coding, and artwork). Also, performed usability testing with various end users to guide the refinement of the final product.
  • Working within a team created formative and summative evaluation plans for SMART Board training provided by an educational training organization that services schools within a MO area school district.

Paper Magic Group, Moosic, PA; 2007 - 2014. Art Director:

  • Created training documents, a website and visual presentation to in-house Production staff to guide them in a new project that gave them the opportunity to design part of our core product line.
  • Created a mini-manual to educate new staff on in-house product terminology.
  • Provide creative support for our sales presentations for various size accounts: (for example: Wal-Mart, Kroger, CVS, etc.) by developing exclusive designs for those accounts, managing the project through the creative process, developing systems to improve workflow, participating in the sales presentations, working directly with the retail buyer to assess their needs and collaborating with the in-house team to develop the right product mix.
